We are working with a charity that supports voluntary and community organisations to recruit for a Community Empowerment and Participation Officer.

You will lead on the design, planning and day to day running of the charity’s programme that supports local charities, social enterprises and community organisations.

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent, flexible hybrid role working 2 days in the office and 3 days at home.

As the Community Empowerment and Participation Officer you will develop and manage the charity programme which is designed to support local charities, social enterprises, and community organisations to operate in a representative, inclusive and participatory manner. You will spend one day per week on core Organisational Development work, and will also work closely with the charity’s Community Development Management

You will shape how this programme is delivered. The role involves the management of a part-time Community Worker.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience working with voluntary and community organisations. You will have an excellent understanding of charity governance and a clear understanding of discrimination; prejudice and the barriers communities may face in accessing decision making opportunities.

You will be an enthusiastic person who can demonstrate your values, passion, ideas, experience and ability to work independently.

Do you have a proven track record in Implementing project plans, managing project development including project monitoring and evaluation?
