Our client in Gloucestershire is experiencing exponential growth and have additional plans that would see it`s operation become even more successful. To support these ambitious growth plans and daily operations, they are looking for a conscientious Safety Officer (Aviation) to join the business on a full time permanent basis. You will be integral to the wider success of the business, tasked with supporting the co-ordination of aviation safety development activities at this bustling airport. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will provide management reporting of all safety issues and closely monitor corrective actions. The experience you have gained at a UK or European regional airport would be of great benefit in this role. Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive performance against health and safety standards through through reactive and proactive methods and strategies.
  • Conduct airside safety compliance assessments of airside safety and training systems.
  • Supporting airside functions and assisting with the implementation of new aviation safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of systems and processes to enhance aviation safety.
  • Compiling monthly safety reports for the senior management team.
  • Promote Just Culture across the organisation and foster a culture of accountability
  • Conduct third party audits.
  • Coordinate safety meetings and safety awareness campaigns.

Your Skills:

  • Proven experience in aviation safety and quality in a commercial aviation environment is critical to be successful in this role
  • Broad knowledge of safety management, hazard identification, mitigation systems, and processes
  • Sound understanding of aerodrome operations e.g. ground handling, aircraft re-fuelling, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of EASA / CAA Regulations
  • Excellent working knowledge of CAP 168 and management of aerodrome certification
  • Recognised Train the Trainer qualification.
  • Competent LEAN and Six Sigma Project Manager
  • Competent user of Centrik software
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
