  • Hours: Full time 30h – Dayshifts – 7am/6pm start and finish times + rotational weekends

We are one of the UK’s biggest healthcare providers specialising in Nursing and Residential care homes. We have an exciting opportunity in our beautiful Nursing home based in Bridport, Dorset for an experienced COOK to join our fantastic team.

As a Cook you will be:

  • Serving nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love
  • You’ll provide great choice, considering cultural preferences and special dietary requirements
  • Managing the kitchen supplies, you will also be responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Occasionally, you will help cater for ad hoc special events. These may include 100th birthday celebrations, summer BBQ’s and Christmas parties.
  • You will be closely working together with the Head Cook to create new recipes and menus

We are looking for a Cook with an S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery, a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and an understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.

Alternatively, you will have a catering background (Cooking for a school /pub/ hotel) and we will invest in you, and you will enjoy additional support.

Beyond that, it’s all about your brilliant, positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll be organised to meet service times, thrive on autonomy to plan and priorities and have a knack for following recipes perfectly
