Duties & responsibilities

The post-holder is expected to be the leading expert for the organisation on national and regulatory data and reporting frameworks for the assets function in Housing, and to ensure compliance with these. Demonstrable expert understanding and knowledge of statutory, policy and regulatory frameworks with regard to services is also required. Key functions within the division include responsive repairs, compliance and safety, asset management and capital delivery.

This role will be responsible for providing a sustained stimulus for service improvement and accountability within the assets function of Housing. This will be achieved through a combination of, measuring and assessing performance and information, providing critical challenge and support to services and providing high-quality intelligence to improve the quality of outcomes.

The post holder will be required to

  • quality-assure performance management reports and play a leading role in holding services to account for the quality of performance, providing advice, support and guidance where needed to enable service performance to improve.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk within the service in areas such as Safeguarding, reputational, financial etc.
  • provide high-quality insight, analysis and evidence, going beyond simple metrics and synthesising multiple sources of evidence to provide an accurate diagnosis of performance issues and recommended solutions.
  • use a range of public and specialist software, systems and data bases related to the services.
  • Provide performance management advice, in a local government setting in across responsive repair, compliance, asset management capital deliver, as well as expert understanding of data protection and safeguarding frameworks.
  • have experience of producing information for external regulators.
  • demonstrate the ability to critically analyse data and identify patterns in service provision to help improve services.
