THE SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ELCETRONIC ENGINEERING (CSEE)

CSEE is a large and dynamic department in the Faculty of Science and Health. The School is internationally known for its research in a range of areas and offers an excellent education to its students. We have enjoyed a period of growth and now have over 1200 students studying with us at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are seeking a Senior Support Technician to join our dedicated technical team. 

You will provide technical support to both our staff and students. This role heavily focuses on the safe running of our operations, and you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, including open days and student and research projects. Good knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems would be advantageous, although training will be provided. Although primarily operational support focused, this role will include deployment of equipment, resolving first-line support queries, and supervising equipment.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office and preferably some knowledge of Linux operating systems (but not essential). The role holder must be able to configure PC hardware, install software, and test configurations.

The candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and must therefore possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team.
