Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm

Our longstanding client based in Rugby, Warwickshire is looking to recruit a Production Planning Manager on a permanent basis.

Production Planning Manager Role:

  • To co-ordinate the operational requirements of departments across the business to the highest standard and within strict timescales
  • To review operational procedures and recommend method changes which make it easier for customers to do business with our client
  • To manage the production planning for our clients site on a day to day basis
  • Monitor raw materials and create production for most efficient use of raw materials to fulfil the immediate sales demand as required

Production Planning Manager Responsibilities:

  • To manage local Blending Plant Planning process including Master Production Schedule, Materials Requirement Plan and Production Scheduler application
  • To process Supplier purchase orders to the highest operational standards and within agreed parameters
  • To process purchase orders for site consumables, repairs, maintenance and services
  • To monitor local Supply Chain operations to meet external customer demands within agreed inventory valuation and service parameters
  • Manage the day-to-day operational interface with logistics providers and through liaison with sales and marketing, ensure efficient and effective communication of logistics issues to the customer
  • To issue regular KPI data to the UK Management team and through liaison with relevant departments propose and implement process and methods changes to improve business performance and reporting
  • Responsible for business Stock Control and Management
  • Third party warehouse stock control and contact
  • Regular physical stock counts and authorised stock amendments
  • Purchase Order processes for third party warehouses
  • Issue weekly stock sheet updates for all market sectors to business and highlight key product shortfalls versus forecast to supply chain contacts
  • Assist QAD new product set up in line with product launch plans to ensure product supply to agreed timetable
  • Responsible for liaison with International Supply Chain contacts regarding product supply to ensure timely delivery of inventories
  • Coordinate Excess & Obsolete stock process
  • Review accuracy of E& O stock provision calculations
  • Actively liaise with business to drive down E & O levels
  • Administration of industry quality standards for products and services
  • Regular site audits as per agreed process
  • Review processes and procedures and issue-controlled updates as required
  • Issue regular reports and follow up actions to ensure compliance with agreed and certified standards

Production Planning Manager Essential Requirements:

  • Understanding of production planning, stock control, warehousing & logistics
  • Windows based applications Knowledge of QAD / Systems
  • Microsoft Excel, Word etc
  • Previous experience working within a customer services driven environment
