Payroll Administrator – Circa £25,000 pa – Monday to Friday – – Based in Peterborough – Permanent

Our client is seeking a payroll administrator to administer payrolls on a monthly, weekly and fortnightly basis.

Payroll is responsible for processing salaries for over 300 individuals each month using the Zeal Accounting Solution, across weekly, fortnightly and monthly. This role requires high levels of accuracy and confidentiality.

Your Skills You will have previous experience of working within payroll, processing multi-frequency payrolls from start to finish, and dealing on a day-to-day basis with all aspects of statutory pay regulations. You will be able to accurately demonstrate manual payroll calculations and possess in-depth knowledge of statutory regulations including auto-enrolment.

Responsibilities

  • Running all aspects of clients’ payrolls including start through to checking, checking and auto-enrolment
  • Experience and confidence with RTI, auto-enrolment and HMRC legislative changes
  • Reviewing and verifying source documents
  • Processing payroll by established deadlines
  • Reconciling employee deductions
  • Investigating and correcting payroll discrepancies and errors
  • Processing new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions

Experience and skills

  • Payroll experience within a similar role (1 year preferred)
  • A high degree of personal motivation and the ability to think on your feet
  • You will require a high level of diplomacy and discretion
  • Ability to manage own time and effectively plan objectives given by line Managers
  • Accurately maintain records
  • Pay as you earn (PAYE) and national insurance
  • Excellent communication skills
