As a senior member of our friendly and collegiate administrative team, you will provide high level support to the Head of School and also lead a team to deliver professional and efficient services including operational assistance and administrative support to the academic community, event organisation, financial administration, organising and minuting meetings, and ordering resources.

To be successful in this role you will:

 Have the ability to build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with senior colleagues

  • Be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a collaborative team leader, with strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Have excellent line management and organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage workload across a team to meet business requirements 
  • Manage complex processes, analyse and interpret business information and support local governance committees 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and well as up-to-date MS Office skills 
  • You will join the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences Faculty Operating Service. Based in the School of Physics and Astronomy, you will make an important contribution supporting the Head of School and the academic community, as well as leading a team.
