The Business Systems and Information Quality Advisor role exists to ensure that our core business systems are designed, developed, tested and supported with our frontline staff in mind and involves:

  • Taking business requirements for systems developments and ensuring that they are built, tested and fit for purpose before release to the service
  • Helping and coaching staff to resolve system errors and recording issues through the Information Quality Helpdesk
  • Our core business systems are LAS, ContrOCC and Wisdom. As social care is constantly changing and evolving there are likely to be more systems added to the portfolio in the next 12 months.

Over the past two years Adult Social Care (ASC) has been implementing Strengths Based Practice, which means that our staff work with people as experts in their own lives; supporting them to reach their potential, listening carefully to ‘what matters’ to them rather than ‘what’s the matter’ with them. They promote equality, show compassion and work creatively with people.

At the same time, we are transforming the way residents and partners access social care, working towards integration with key partners such as health and developing new systems for our commissioning colleagues. We are ambitious and keen to maximise the functionality of core systems, building on this to create bespoke solutions for ASC to have optimal business systems fit for use across our multiple teams.

To be successful in this role you will need to be inquisitive and methodical. You will be working on specific projects as well as spending time supporting the helpdesk. Project work includes helping to build forms and outputs, investigate possibilities, suggest solutions and testing according to set specifications. The helpdesk involves assisting frontline staff to resolve recording errors or coaching them to learn how to do specific tasks that they are struggling with. Helping staff to understand the importance of data quality is a key part of the role. You will also have a key role in systems upgrades including testing new functionality.

To be shortlisted for interview your CV and personal statement will evidence the following:

  • Your commitment to customer service and ability to help staff to understand systems processes, information quality and functionality
  • Knowledge of adult social care including operational knowledge of social care systems (ideally Liquid Logic or OCC) with an understanding of the principles behind social care practice
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at once, prioritise and develop excellent working relationships with colleagues
  • Experience of user acceptance testing, and/or systems development
  • Ability to travel across the county of Surrey to various locations to attend meetings when needed. Much of our work is now carried out remotely so you will be adept at using technology such as MS Teams
  • Experience of using including Word and Excel to a high standard
  • We look forward to receiving your application with CV, plus your separate personal statement (please do not just attach a second copy of your CV).
