The successful candidate for this role will work with the Head of Procurement to review historic and ongoing Vendor Spend and build new reporting metrics and KPI’s, they will also support on sourcing projects, as required. This is a great opportunity for someone to develop a Purchasing career. The role will be developed over time to take ownership of Vendor spend analysis, due diligence and reporting.

The Role:

  • Support the Head of Procurement in delivering department objectives
  • Working closely with key departments to resolve vendor issues
  • Support generation and implementation of key departmental processes
  • Support generation and implementation of departmental KPI’s
  • Ensure the purchasing team understand current performance levels and the impact to the wider business
  • Support in the creation of Vendor scorecards and questionnaires
  • Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and help prepare control strategies
  • Control spending and build a culture of long-term saving and value add
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve the effectiveness
  • Keep tabs on monthly and quarterly company spending.
  • Cross functional working, forming relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Invoice validation and approval
  • Assist in monthly/Annual Budget reporting/building
  • Produce Monthly reporting against KPI’s
  • Adhere, support and contribute to our Responsible Sourcing processes and goals
  • Reviewing processes and standards to maintain customer focus and ensuring best practice is achieved
  • To support the Purchasing Managers on larger projects as required
  • Oversee contract on boarding and renewals
  • Support the companies ESG agenda in relation to Vendor information
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Outstanding planning and organising skills
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Assertive with ability to manage internal and external contacts with diplomacy
  • Persuasive and able to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience of reporting from SAP, running analysis using excel and driving insight from data
  • Ability to demonstrate a capability to liaise with Internal and External contacts and to effectively ensure Stakeholder engagement
  • Highly numerate and literate
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • A can-do attitude and flexibility to working hours is required
