Would you like to work for one of the largest Housing Associations in London and the South-East?

We provide homes for around 170,000 people in some 65,000 properties across the capital. We were formed in April 2018 from Notting Hill Housing and Genesis Housing Association. Together, we are able to build more homes, do more for our customers and make a bigger difference across London and the Southeast. This is an exciting time to join us and help shape our future.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to provide and support NHG to develop and maintain high standards in health and safety for employees, customers and contractors.

In this key role you will be responsible for the promotion, communication and guidance across all safe working practises, policies and procedures across the Notting Hill Genesis network. As well as supporting staff you will be required to ensure that standards are adhered to and upheld across the business as well as undertake investigations into Health and Safety incidents.

We are looking for individuals with a broad background in Health and Safety with a preference to a housing background, but this is not essential. You will be able to demonstrate and advise on health and safety matters to all employees and colleagues – and be able to develop polices and training. You will have experience of providing high quality health and safety services, guidance and advice across various facets within the business and ideally across multiple locations.

Ideally you would have managed risk in the following areas:

  • Fire
  • Gas
  • Electricity
  • Asbestos
  • Water
  • Also important are experience in DSE (display screen equipment experience – and procedures around potential health risks), CDM (Construction, Design and Management) and Covid.

The position requires an individual with strong written and verbal communication to establish themselves in this role. You will be familiar with current health and safety regulations and hold a NEBOSH General Certificate accreditation (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent being desirable or working towards).

This is a great opportunity for the right person to develop and enhance the service to make a sustainable contribution to our organisation’s success. In return, we’ll support you to grow into the role and become a trusted member of our team.
