Fantastic opportunity for a registered nurse to develop your career in school health nursing!

We have a community staff nurse post in the Central Area of Oxfordshire. This role allows the successful applicant to gain an excellent insight into the role of a School Health Nurse by working in school health nursing.

In Oxfordshire we have an unique service, where our primary school nurse team work across a group of schools, working directly with children and contributing to personal and social health education. You will offer one to one support to young people, often concentrating on the vulnerable, and ensuring children with specific medical conditions are able to access learning opportunities. This makes the community staff nurse role varied and stimulating, as no two days are ever the same.

For this post we require someone who has nursing experience, preferably someone who has worked with children and families or within a community setting.

We recognise that moving to something so different can be a challenge for staff, so we have a robust support system in place – a comprehensive induction plan, weekly clinical meetings with other, as well as regular management and clinical supervision. Oxford Health also offer regular opportunities for personal development. We support our community staff nurses to gain a place on the SCPHN course if desired, and this leads to the acquisition of this prestigious qualification.

We currently have 2 posts available within the Central area – we would consider 25 – 30 hours term time only for the right applicant.

Due to the location of the schools within this area, the applicant must have access to a car on a daily basis
