Assistant Finance Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager within the Managed Procurement Services of DHL Supply Chain. The NUMS contract is a unique and diverse contract unlike any other in DHL Supply chain. We provide end to end supply chain and logistic solution, providing the Police Forces across the UK with uniform and equipment. Being an end-to-end service, we are responsible for handling orders, returns, recycling and disposal and the procurement of all uniform and equipment supplied as well as providing warehousing and logistic capabilities.

This role will have you looking after the weekly flash reporting, forecasting, budgeting, month end duties, credit management, customer reporting, open-books and balance sheet reconciliations and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders.

Having the ability to adapt your approach to different stakeholders will be key. This role will give you the opportunity to manage a team of 4 employees, overseeing the work of the team, organising tasks and setting goals. This will give the successful candidate scope to enhance their current skills as well as the opportunity to develop and grow towards progression in their career. The role will provide the opportunity to work in a diverse welcoming team where support and assistance will always be given to ensure that the customer’s needs are always met as well as a great atmosphere to work.

The Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Manager will include

  • Supporting other finance colleagues in their daily tasks including timely sales and purchasing
  • Ensuring adherence to accounting rules, procedures and timescales
  • Analysis of financial data and production of management accounting information for business including benefits tracking
  • Continuous review of customer debt and cash allocation and escalate as necessary
  • Provide reports as and when requested
  • Support Operational teams in provision of ad hoc reports

To be successful as an Assistant Finance Manager in DHL Supply Chain you need the following:

  • Be PC literate in Excel, Word etc.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy
