CNC Turner Late Shift

We are currently looking for a Production Operative (CNC Turner) to join our Late shift team based in Lymington, Hampshire. Ensuring the best manufacturing techniques are carried out within the Machine Shop by practical application of the most appropriate methods from operating and setting to programming of the machine tool/tools and to stimulate an atmosphere of continuous improvement.

Hours of work: 39 hrs per week working: Monday to Wednesday 3.30pm to 2.00am and Thursday 3.30pm to 1.00am.

Hourly Rate: Competitive

You may be required to work shift patterns Monday to Friday to suit business requirements. Shift Patterns are as follows: –

Days – 7.00am to 15.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 14.30pm Friday.

Lates – 15.30pm to 02.00am Monday to Wednesday and 15.30pm to 01.00am Thursday.

The Company reserves the right to change shift start and finish times depending on the needs of the business

CNC Turner Late Shift Duties:

  • Setting and operating of CNC lathes, with an understanding of programming knowledge.
  • The ability to carefully follow procedure in terms of process through set-up sheets etc.
  • Be able to interpret technical drawings with a good understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances.
  • Ensuring that quality and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • The necessary skill set to work within a team environment or individually.
  • All work must be carried out in accordance with job card instructions and attendant stage drawings, customer specifications etc. and generally in accordance with the company’s quality system.
  • All work must be undertaken in a safe manner and in accordance with the relevant safe systems of work and generally in accordance with the company’s safety policies.

CNC Turner Late Shift Requirements:

  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
  • A Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with large components within a high precision manufacturing environment.
  • A Minimum of 3 years’ experience of operating CNC controls (CNC Turner)
  • Wide ranging manufacturing process knowledge, across differing materials in varying applications.
  • Experience of working to engineering drawings or work instructions with the ability to interpret technical drawings with a high-level understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances.
  • Knowledge of how to machine, handle and protect all types of manufactured components.
  • Experience and ability to set and operate different machine tools.
  • Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering is desirable.
  • Flexibility is desirable as there may be a requirement to support with alternative shift patterns in line with business needs.
