IT Director

Robert Half Technology has been retained to recruit an IT Director for one of Scotland’s fastest growing businesses.

Key Responsibilities of the IT Director:

Based at their head office near Glasgow, you will work with CTO, leading and influencing the Group’s technology teams including Software Systems and Development, Data Analytics, and IT Infrastructure.

  • Developing and delivering a guest and colleague focussed three-year technology roadmap and strategy to be at the forefront of our 21st century market influencing automotive business.
  • Delivering an integrated one strategy technology approach for the Group.
  • Setting goals and technology objectives that are focussed on agile working with a cloud first, online digital approach.
  • Developing E-commerce technology products to support SaaS businesses, providing end-to-end E-commerce solutions, allowing the business to scale at pace and deliver multi-channel and new business opportunities.
  • Devising industry leading guest centric solutions that revolutionise the guest journey and provide the business with a single view of our guests, their needs, and requirements.
  • Creating a Data Analytics environment that will drive operational financial performance by providing data knowledge and insights, underpinned by security and compliance with the highest levels of data governance.
  • Providing a robust IT Infrastructure environment, including technology policies and procedures to support the growth and development of the business.
  • Delivering outcomes that are focussed on the highest levels of security, risk and compliance

Key Skills of the role:

  • Proven track record of being a highly successful Technology leader, with experience of working in a guest focussed, retail and E-commerce sectors.
  • Experience of leading teams to develop bespoke in-house software solutions.
  • Development of Data Analytics tools and data warehouse capabilities, preferably the use of Power BI.
  • Managing all third-party outsourced technology provider relationship and being the key point of contact.
  • Experience of working within a complex, multisite, multifaceted business.
  • Leading change management projects, delivering cost effective technology strategies and solutions.
  • Setting up technology solutions to support new business opportunities from ground zero.
  • High intellectual capability with the ability to learn at pace and lead a complex Group;
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to establish new teams and develop ways of working to drive, motivate and mentor others.
  • Driven and ambitious individual that is looking to further enhance their career in a fast-growing business.
