Due to expansion of our services, we would like to welcome a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse to join our Learning & Development Team at Helen & Douglas House. If you possess a Practice Supervisor or equivalent facilitating learning in the workplace qualification, we would love to hear from you!

Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice charity based in Oxford, providing palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families. We foster a climate where team members feel able to openly question, debate and appropriately challenge their own and the practice of others; as such, we welcome new ideas and strive to constantly improve our delivery of care to our patients.

Your demonstrable experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating clinical skills, teaching and training will shine through when working alongside our Band 6 PDN in the ongoing development of our clinical skills framework. This will include, but is not limited to, introduction to the framework, clinical skills teaching, assessment, and updating training in a way which leaves individuals feeling confident and motivated. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and review of competencies.

You will develop skills in the planning and provision of training and education for clinical staff under the direction of the Learning and Development Lead. You will also be supporting student placements and the development of newly qualified Nursing Associates.

Knowledge and understanding of learning styles and the needs of adult learners would certainly benefit you when working alongside our clinical colleagues in a training and development capacity, role modelling evidence-based practice, competency in clinical skills, reflective practice and a personal responsibility for life-long learning.

This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) role, but part time hours would be considered (minimum 22.5 hours per week).

Helen and Douglas House offer the following benefits:
