An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacists to join our well established and multi-award winning surgery, orthopaedics and critical care clinical pharmacy team.

As integral members of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide a highly specialist, patient centred, safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to patients across a variety of settings such as General, Vascular and Urology surgery, the Acute Surgical Receiving Unit, Orthopaedics and the Theatre Admission Suite. There will be an opportunity to develop a specialist role in one of these clinical settings and also further your knowledge and experience in other clinical areas such as critical care.

Joining our friendly and supportive team you will have the opportunity to gain and share knowledge within a diverse and challenging healthcare environment while supported to further develop your clinical skills in managing patients with various surgical and orthopaedic conditions, enhance your leadership skills and expand your management capabilities.

We are an innovative and well integrated team with a constant drive to develop new clinical pharmacy services in line with the aspirations of Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care strategy. This post will help support and further develop new initiatives as part of a strategic transformational programme within the Surgical Directorate affecting patient flow, increasing day of surgery admissions, establishing 7 day clinical services and improving quality of care.

This post offers a great opportunity for pharmacists wanting to either develop their clinical skills and understanding of the care of this specialist group of patients, or to consolidate and further develop their existing knowledge and experience in this field. This is an exciting and rewarding post with plenty of excellent support from the rest of our dedicated team.

You must be a dynamic team player who is either a registered Independent Prescriber or working towards the qualification. You must also have completed your postgraduate Diploma / MSc in a relevant area or have experience to an equivalent level.

The post holder will be required to contribute to the weekend and public holiday rotas as per service requirements. Part time and flexible working will be considered.

Hours of work are: 37.5 Hours worked over a 7 day week. Part time applicants will also be considered.
