The post holder has delegated responsibility from the Healthcare Manager for organising and implementing the accurate and timely processing and supply of medicines within the prison. Responsible for ensuring an efficient and accurate medicines supply process to the Health Centre.

The post holder will respond to requests from health care staff and prisoners for supplies of medicines, dressings, sundries and appliances required to meet the needs of the prison population.

The post holder is responsible for the generation of stock control and patient order documentation and for ensuring that quality of service, environment and equipment meet the specified standards.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
