We are working in partnership with a leading firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting for an experienced practice accountant for the position of Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager for the York office.

Duties and Responsibilities

the role of Senior Accountant/Assistant Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for a varied client portfolio of small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses
  • Preparation of Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Management Information
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies
  • Act as senior in charge, in the absence of the partner
  • Staff management including training and review of work/files
  • Bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of Corporate tax returns
  • Skills and Qualities

    The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience The Individual must have developed a broad range of experience within statutory and management accounting along with experience of dealing with clients directly, the experience of staff supervision would also be advantageous.
