The role:

National Energy Action (NEA), the national fuel poverty charity, is recruiting for an experienced and self-motivated Senior Research and Policy Officer, to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable energy consumers, and help eradicate fuel poverty and promote energy efficiency.

The energy and cost of living crises, and transition to net zero makes this a critical time to join us here at NEA.

As a Senior Research and Policy Officer, you would be joining a highly effective and well-established Social Research and Policy Team to deliver a diverse and high-impact work programme.

This is a 9-month fixed-term full-time (37 hours per week) post with the possibility of an extension, with a flexible location. NEA staff continue to temporarily work from home currently.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrable experience in a lead social research role and hold a degree in a social science or related discipline.
  • An in-depth knowledge and experience in all the main aspects of social research, including evaluation and outcomes-based approaches.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A demonstrable record of influencing policy outcomes and/or working with external stakeholders to mobilise positive change would be an advantage.
