To be the Lead Officer to attract sponsorship, commercial and external funding support for Croydon’s Borough of Culture . To work towards a target of attracting in excess £1.6million of external fundraising and sponsorship.

Lead the development and implementation of the fundraising plan and securing funding opportunities for Croydon’s legacy. To define a commissioning framework for funders in adherence to the Cultural Charter created with residents and local artists to ensure ethical, fair and inclusive representation.

To be responsible for the management of relationships with corporate, public and charitable funders. Identify and approach potential funders locally, regionally, nationally and internationally to initiate partnership discussions and identify opportunities.

To lead fundraising applications for the client led programme activity such as the Ignite Fund and other streams.

To support commissioned delivery partners with additional fundraising bids and meeting targets. To support community based organisations and activities with additional fundraising bids including providing training and developing tool-kits.

To deliver the fundraising and support the allocation and distribution of the open access Ignite Fund, defining the commissioning criteria with the team and engagement groups.

To develop a corporate sponsorship scheme through identifying a set of sponsorship assets to support activities working with other public sector teams across Economic Growth and Regeneration to identify suitable local sponsors.

Responsible for ensuring all funding bids are managed in accordance with client financial management and governance of programme.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in working hours and locations to support the needs of staff team and service delivery. This may require evening and weekend working and/or a change of location with prior notice.

  • Forming new partnerships and sustaining current partnerships and working with key external funders and corporate sponsors at national and local level
  • Leading on implementation of specific projects such as the Ignite Fund, which could involve managing a small project team, training staff and recruiting volunteers.
