Do you have an Environmental Construction or Flood Management background and want to further develop your career within Development Management?

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Management Officer to join our Flood and Development Management Team and support the work of our Flood Programme Team.

As an Assistant Development Manager you will support the Development Management Officers to ensure formal responses to planning enquiries and applications are provided efficiently and to an appropriate standard reflecting the relevant policies technical principles guidance and regulations/legislations relative to the area of responsibility.

You will provide technical advice in managing consenting on ordinary watercourse duties to meet the Council’s obligations under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 as well as on school place planning duties to meet the Council’s obligations under the various education acts.

The role will also support the current Defra flood risk reduction programme for schemes under £100k but include a supporting role in the 5 year Cumbria Innovative Flood Resilience (CiFR) project. The CiFR project covers 4 key areas across Cumbria and looks to employing Natural flood measures and resilience support for communities.
