An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a nurse to join the Neurology department at the RD&E as a Parkinsons nurse. The post holder will be able to develop skills in providing nursing advice, support and care to people living with MS in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

This post is part time 18.75 hours. With support and supervision from the specialist nurses, the post holder will develop an in-depth knowledge of MS, refine their clinical skills to manage the care of patients across the disease spectrum, plus, develop knowledge in educating people with Parkinsons, carers and healthcare professionals to manage Parkinsons Disease. The post holder will be supported to develop skills in providing face to face, video and telephone clinics. Training and development opportunities will be offered.

Applicants should be dynamic, motivated and keen to develop this role. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to work collaboratively with people with Parkinsons, carers, within both clinical and research multidisciplinary teams.

This role will be a developmental role from a band six to a band 7 once all of the competencies have been achieved. Should you already have the required skills this role could be appointed as a band 7.
