Post of GP Services Medical Equipment Technician

BAND 4

FULL TIME, PERMANENT

Salary Scale : Band 4 : £23,709 – £25,982 (pro rata)

Applications are invited for this post which is based within the Electromedical Equipment Services Section at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. The EES team provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service to NHS Highland. This is a full-time permanent post and the hours are 37.5 per week.

The successful candidate will work in our EES Team based in Inverness and will provide a comprehensive service to commission, maintain and repair a wide range of medical equipment used throughout the Highlands in General Practice surgeries. This includes infusion devices, defibrillators, BP monitors, tympanic thermometers, centrifuges etc. These services are provided to all GP practices in NHS Highland and the post holder will be expected to regularly work away from base and often overnight. A full, clean licence to drive in the UK is therefore essential.

Applicants should ideally have an OND in electronics engineering or other appropriate discipline. Relevant experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment and a working knowledge of databases, Word and Excel would be an advantage. Applicants should have a good knowledge of the Highland area and be able to demonstrate good logistical skills in planning safe and efficient service visits.

The successful applicant should be a customer focused team player, a good communicator and have the organisational and time management skills required to cover a wide range of tasks.
