JOB PURPOSE:

The Activities Coordinator leads and encourages Members to join in meaningful activities whilst maintaining their independence, choice and dignity, to enable them to lead as full and active life as possible. They create a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events, inside and outside of the home, for residents to enjoy. They work with each new Member to understand their likes and dislikes, abilities and needs to put together an individual social care plan and to evaluate regularly. They engage the local community into the daily lives of residents by initiating contact with local community groups enabling residents to partake and continue with hobbies and interests as desired.

It is expected that the Activities Coordinator completes any required training and becomes acknowledgeable about the Loveday & Co. culture, policies and procedures. The Activities Coordinator is required to develop and maintain a positive atmosphere for residents, families, visitors and team members.

The Activities Coordinator is expected to be knowledgeable and constantly learning about the most current information on Dementia. This person will adhere to the dementia Strategy within their role at all times.

Activities Coordinators will also help coordinate the Day Club Programme, work with families for transport, escorts to home, and facilitate person centred activities.
