The company are long established, family run business that specialise in the manufacture of precision components to the Aerospace, Oil & Gas and Defence industries. As part of their continuing expansion they have an opportunity for a CNC programmer to work within their modern manufacturing site in Nottingham. Working alongside a team of highly skilled engineers, you’ll be given full autonomy over manufacturing precision parts from raw material, to finished article.

Benefits include Hourly rate of £16 p/h depending on experience, overtime during the week and weekends, 32 days holiday, company pension, and much more

Responsibilities of the CNC Machinist include –

  • Responsible for programming and setting of 3 & 4 axis HAAS machining centres
  • Writing milling programmes long hand at the machine using HAAS controls
  • Machining of new jigs and fixtures for prototype manufacture
  • Manage the programming of updates and new components
  • Editing pre written programmes, the full machine setup including material, jigs, fixtures, speeds, feeds and prove out
  • Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment
  • Continuous improvement to existing and new jobs completed

    • Ideal applicants for the CNC Machinist role will have the following skills / experience
    – Previous experience with either programming, or editing of pre-written CNC programmes
    – Confident user of either HAAS or FANUC controlled Milling Machines
    – Be able to machine high quality parts from one off to medium batch volume, in a range of hard and soft metals
    – Have a strong stable working history within the manufacturing industry, and be able to provide references when required

    Working hours are 39hrs per week Monday to Friday, on days
