Amnesty International UK (AIUK) has a simple aim: an end to human rights abuses. You could be our new Senior Community Organiser for Youth, leading a small team responsible for supporting and managing young activists play prominent and leadership roles in the Amnesty movement through student and youth groups, our Children’s Human Rights Network and our youth leadership development programmes.

About the role

The Senior Community Organiser for Youth will work alongside two other Senior Community Organisers to help us achieve our goal of connecting with communities and building a powerful, inclusive human rights movement in the UK by using community organising and partnership building. The Senior Community Organiser for Youth is accountable for the development and growth of children’s, youth and student activist groups and networks and for developing and training young people as activist leaders.

They will also seek opportunities and partnerships to innovate, positively change understanding of and attitudes towards human rights in communities across the UK and will be part of a team developing our overall approach to building and supporting diverse, inclusive and powerful campaigning groups and networks.

  • You’re skilled in building relationships, particularly working with young people and /or students. You are experienced in community organising and developing partnerships and activism.
  • You can manage complex relationships and bring people together on issues that they can all work on.
  • You are highly organised and can implement effective systems and processes
