Main duties of the job

As a senior staff nurse you will act as case manager for a small group of young people and work closely with the wider MDT to plan, deliver and review the care provided on the ward. In addition you will contribute to the day to day routine and support for young people on the ward and ultimately support their discharge back to the community.

As a senior member of the nursing team you will be expected to contribute to the development of more junior colleagues, students and the wider service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • 1st Level Nurse RMN NMC Registration.
  • Evidence of a Degree level qualification or working towards this within an agreed time frame.
  • Evidence of CPD Holds or is actively working towards a relevant Post-graduate Diploma/ willing to work towards attaining, Diploma to be completed within an agreed timeframe.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Management qualification and /or management experience Mentor/supervisor/assessor/
  • Experience

  • Significant experience of working either within the clinical speciality or a relevant nursing role
  • Ability to demonstrate application of improvement methodology.
