An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well motivated individual to join the team as a Ward Clerk, within Scarborough Hospital.

You will need to be flexible and open to changes, self-disciplined, motivated and be empathetic to all those you come into contact with. It is essential that you can prioritise your own workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, but also exercise initiative within set parameters.

Main duties of the job

We have 1 post available: 

2 x 7.5 hour set shifts per week, Monday- Friday, hours will be 07:00-15;00 or 08:00- 16:00 

This fast paced environment provides care for patients admitted from GP consultations, clinic appointments within the hospital, and via the Emergency Department. The successful applicant will be expected to cover all wards across the hospital.

Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player, enjoy meeting and working with the public. Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job and NHS experience would be an advantage; however, full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent – English & Maths at C or above or – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience

  • Previous office / administrative experience in an NHS environment

    Applicant requirements

    The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
