Principal Software Engineers are accountable for ensuring robust technical delivery of products and services. They are responsible for planning alongside the squad, co-creating the plan and inputting their expertise as needed to ensure technical excellence.
They are a hands-on technical leader with exemplary senior engineer/architecture skills. They are a natural problem solver who intuitively identifies risks, issues, gaps, and dependencies and brings people together to define solutions and make decisions.
Working with product managers, engineers, bioinformaticians, researchers and designers, you’ll become an expert in deploying genomic testing and enabling researchers to explore and analyse vast amounts of data, working on ongoing projects at different stages, from discovery to Alpha, beta and live.
Essential Criteria:
. Lead Software Engineer/Architect able to plan a technical roadmap for a product with strong ability to write code and excellent knowledge of one of the following:
o Python
o React
o Terraform, YAML
. Able to architect, write, build and deploy custom software using AWS as the cloud provider
. Natural leadership skills with a temperament that leads to cohesion within and across squads through open communication, having led software teams.
. Strong understanding in the DevOps culture, Automation and Testing (Test Driven or Behaviour Driven Development).
Desirable Criteria:
. Cloud certifications (Architect or Development)
. Ansible
. Have worked in the Genomics, BioTech, MedTech, Healthcare space, or Retail, E-commerce.
