Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) x 4 posts, based in St Johns Hospital, Livingston.

These posts are available from August 2021. One year fixed term contract in first instance. Opportunities may exist to develop sub speciality interest.

This is a Speciality Grade Anaesthetist post, to re-establish cover in Speciality Grade cohort (6). The Practitioner will be responsible for the continued care of patients in his/her charge and for the proper functioning of the department. This hospital provides a broad canvas of surgical specialities but additionally is a tertiary centre for Plastic surgery, ENT, Maxillo-Facial surgery and ENT.

Most Anaesthetic specialities are represented; involving both elective and emergency work, although there is only elective work in general surgery and orthopaedics. There is some paediatric anaesthesia in many of the surgical specialities. A CEPOD Theatre allows emergency surgery during working hours.

There is a suite of 9 operating theatres and large Recovery Area. We also have 5 remote theatre sites; an Ophthalmology/General Theatre, dental sedation suite, Obstetric Theatre (housed within the Labour Suite), elective endoscopy theatre and a remote ECT suite. The 7 bedded ITU/HDU was refurbished in 2015.
