You will be required to live in the London area, as you will be servicing one of their largest London-based clients. The role will be based primarily on site.

About you
Reporting to the Head of Projects as the Field Engineer, your role is to proactively drive the installation of assigned projects and manage any issues that occur during site visits, either resolving or escalating to the Head of Projects.
As part of the engineering elements you will be required to operate autonomously installing, maintaining and supporting IT and WiFi systems for both existing and new customer base. Due to the nature of the business the role requires flexibility to travel and stay away from home.
There will also be a requirement to provide support around any escalated BAU faults, this may require remote works or site visits. These will generally be controlled by the Head of Support or the Technical Engineering team.
You will have experience in:
Strong background of Windows Server Operating system including DC, DNS, DHCP, GPO etc.
Strong understanding of routing and switching, using Cisco/Aruba/HP equipment
Experience in supporting/installing WiFi technologies specifically Cisco, Ruckus wireless solutions, exposure to Aruba WiFi would also be beneficial and an understanding of the .11 wireless standards
Previous experience using VoIP systems
Qualifications; Windows MCSA, Cisco CCNA R&S (desirable)
ECS + SSSTS certifications (desirable)
Valid driving licence as this role requires travel to sites
What you’ll do, and how you will make an impact
The Field Engineer will be based in London. Key responsibilities below:
Lead Engineer
Manage engineering elements of new projects that we are providing and co-ordinate with project manager.
Understand time constraints for installation and be able to priorities work based on this. (eg delivering elements of the solution as a priority based on customer’s needs)
Maintaining QA documentation to keep track of outstanding engineering elements to ensure nothing is missed
Have an awareness of both IT and Telecoms elements, get involved where required and drive getting a solution
Manage the relationship with third parties for the project and making sure interfacing/communication between systems has been planned for
Ensure Micron’s standards are upheld for installs and all documentation relevant to the project has been completed
Attend technical meetings when required as job gets closer to install
Feedback comments from other engineers working on the projects, commenting on processes and recommending changes based on projects
IT Engineering
Carry out IT and WiFi installations
Provide assistance on Telecoms installations where required
Assist in pre-configuration of equipment for IT/WiFi projects
Assist in the design and implementation of new IT/Network/WiFi solutions
Update and maintain paperwork on projects and customer documentation
Perform Wireless Surveys (tools and software provided)
Make on the fly changes to solution configuration as the project demands ensuring all documentation is updated to reflect this.

What’s on offer?
The successful Field Engineer can expect to receive a basic salary of between £30, – £39, depending on experience + SimplyHealth – cash plan where employees can claim back dental, optical etc. Wellbeing hour – opportunity to book 2hrs a quarter to do what you like, can be booked as single hour of 2hr. Nest pension scheme
Working hours – Mon – Thur 8.30am – 5.30pm and Fri 8.30am – 5pm (1hr for lunch)
