This is an exciting opportunity to join the Energy Research Reference Books team, taking a leadership role for the strategy of the Power Energy and Engineering program. Our highly collaborative and creative team is dedicated to working closely with world-renowned thought leaders to develop high quality content for researchers, academics, industry experts and graduates.

About the Role

In this role, you will build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Power Energy market, developing relationships with key contacts in the scientific community. Sustainable Power Technology is a growing area and you will take the lead on developing a publication strategy, collaborating with other Acquisitions Editors on the team to develop a strong vision for the future of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop deep market understanding by utilizing data tools and market research
  • Refine and execute acquisitions strategy to deliver value to the business, quality content to the market, and high usage for the customer
  • Recruit, sign, and manage authors with subject matter expertise to create innovative, high quality, diverse content for key areas in Power Energy
  • Collaborate with other Energy team members to ensure full coverage of subject areas, product types and workflows
  • Work with a global team of collaborative professionals across editorial, sales, marketing, production, operations, technology, product, legal, finance, and more, as well as esteemed external experts
  • Enhance portfolio diversity, improving representation across editors, authors and reviewers
  • Requirements

  • Experience in academic publishing, preferably editorial; understanding of academic markets, strategic planning, content acquisitions, author management; working with both print and digital content
  • Proven ability to network and build strong relationships across internal and external partners, with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A team player, willing to collaborate, try new ideas and not be afraid to make mistakes.
