Ninewells Hospital, Dundee

We are now recruiting 1 ST1 level Locum Appointment for Training (LAT) in Emergency Medicine within Tayside. The post will primarily be based in Ninewells Hospital but with some clinical shifts in Perth Royal Infirmary. These posts are for 6 months commencing 03 August 2022.

Tayside Emergency Medicine aims to deliver high quality care in association with high quality training through high levels of consultant supervision of at least 16 hours per day. Both departments consistently perform amongst the best in the UK in caring for our patients within the 4 hour standard

 All of the consultants are experienced trainers and feedback from the GMC survey and Scottish Trainee Survey are consistently good

Tayside EDs see approximately 70,000 new patients a year and Ninewells is a Major Trauma Centre within the Scottish Trauma Network with a Prehospital Team based in the department

Both departments are general EDs seeing the full age range and variety of presentations ensuring a good breadth of training experience with specific policies in place to ensure the most critically unwell patients are brought to the right hospital first time
