Job Description

As the Operations Director, you will be accountable for the strategic budgeting and delivery of performance across Purchasing, Sourcing, Manufacturing, HSE, Supply Chain, Logistics and Warehousing. You will work with the broader senior management team to develop business strategies and initiatives to deliver continuous growth in an expanding market whilst delivering outstanding leadership to the Operations team and its valued members.

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, including HR & Health and Safety.
  • Delivering outstanding leadership and development of your direct reports and ensuring they are delivering the highest standards of leadership to their own respective teams.
  • The creation and execution of a vision and strategy to ensure healthy business growth with the highest possible levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring the business culture is highly inclusive, collaborative, transparent and honest with excellent levels of personal and collective accountability.
  • Delivering outstanding manufacturing performance to ensure production efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Leading product development from inception through to profitable delivery
  • Ensuring excellent performance from supply chain and logistics partners.
  • Ensuring adequate resources (personnel, materials, equipment and training) are provided to meet the company objectives.

    As the Operations Director, you will have a proven track record of success and delivery in a manufacturing leadership role in an organisation with a high labour count and where creating an inclusive and collaborative working environment is key.

    Key selection criteria will include, but not be limited to;

  • Qualifications in a technical or engineering discipline or qualified by experience
  • A Quality and Customer focused approach
  • A proven track record of delivering operational excellence and business transformation in an environment with a high labour content and limited automation
  • Previous leadership of a large enterprise with 100+ employees in operations
  • Cross functional management of non-manufacturing functions inclusive of purchasing, planning and logistics
  • Proven leadership & communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative and inclusive leadership style
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining structured training, personal development, and career progression programs.
