Position Overview:
Experienced IT Project Manager required to join our UK and Ireland PMO team to manage and deliver a wider range of initiatives and projects within an established project methodology and governance framework.
The successful candidate will work within a global IT organisation to deliver projects in an exciting, challenging and diverse portfolio with opportunities for delivery of global strategic initiatives.
Job Description:
Responsibilities of the role include
Manage the successful delivery of projects and initiatives from planning phase through to closure in line with the company global project delivery methodology and governance framework.
Project monitoring and control throughout the project lifecycle within the defined governance structure
Collaborate with key stakeholders to create project plans and project related documents
Articulate and document comprehensive business cases with clearly defined measurable business outcomes and benefits
Engage in commercial and procurement activities, demonstrating a commercial mindset
Be able to work competently with regional and global stakeholders and develop effective relationships
Build and lead motivated, delivery focussed project teams
Engage in business change related activities to ensure projects are successfully adopted and support benefits realisation
Requirements and skills
Demonstrable ability to manage and influence stakeholders of all levels
Be able to engage both with technical teams and business stakeholders to achieve desired business outcomes & benefits
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong collaborator.
Comprehensive skills around problem, issue, risk and change management
Strong problem resolution, negotiation and influencing skills
Experienced user of MS Project
Excellent skills in using a variety of Microsoft Office and planning tools
Experience using PPM tools is desirable
Knowledge
Excellent working understanding of project management methodologies
Good commercial awareness
Accountability
Adherence to the Finning Project Management and SDLC methodology/processes. Project Milestones delivered to schedule. Project documentation is delivered to agreed schedule. Positive feedback from the Manager, IT Leadership team, Business Management and 3rd party providers.
Education and Experience
Qualified as a PRINCE2 Practitioner
5+ years in IT project management roles
Working Environment
Home based. Occasional on site when required.
