Deputy Manager, picture the perfect nursing home. Modern but not massive. Polished but not posh. Homely but not highfalutin. Featureful, forward-thinking, finger on the pulse, fabulous. I could go on…

Factually, the Nursing Home looking for a Deputy Manager is great. Consistent and sustainable investment has given this smaller service a sensory garden that enjoys south-facing aspects, an olde-worldy boutique and a modern salon / treatment / therapy room. It also has an olde-worldy pub / bar and an awesome cinema room.

In short, this home is on a par with it’s biggest and flashest neighbours but still, it has something more that gives it an edge. CARE.

That’s right, care. Despite all it’s bells and whistles, still to this day, after more than 20 years in business, the biggest reason people want to work here is that the philosophy is about great care, not great cushions. That attitude comes from the top. This small Nursing Home is part of a fabulous medium-sized family-run group. The management team are hand-picked for their focus on care excellence and hence the owners have consistently got the recipe for success right.

The recipe for future success here is simple. A new Deputy Manager will allow the current Deputy to take a step back. Supporting a Manager who is successfully gunning for a CQC Outstanding is a big responsibility.

Our Deputy Manager will be a Registered Nurse. Ideally RGN or an RMN/RNLD who has practised and can show others how to do Phlebotomy and Catheterisation.

You will also be demonstrably computer literate, to a reasonable standard. E.g. maybe you’re a social media whiz, maybe you are the one who has always helped your relatives sort out their computers or maybe you’ve just got lots of experience using care related software. No pretenders on this front. You must know it and be able to show it or be a fast learner. How else are you going to show your colleagues the benefits.

We also want to hear some examples of great care you’ve delivered.

It would also help to be able to speak confidently about your experience of supervision, care planning etc. However, the reality on these fronts as far as our management team are concerned is that most of these other nice to haves can be taught and developed.

What do you get in return?

  • Up to £45k plus benefits (perhaps a little more if you ace the interviews)
  • Paid breaks
  • Fixed rota’s
  • No covid
  • No complex care
  • To work alongside an inclusive engaging and fun-loving General Manager (themselves RGN) who has a clear plan of progress to achieve Outstanding.
  • Sound like the sort of journey you’d like to be a part of? Great, we hoped it would be. All you need to do now is get in touch for a initial conversation.

If you have one, apply with CV. If you want to know a little more, please call me, Christof here in the Recruitment Panda office. We’re looking forward to hearing from you and helping you discover the perfect nursing home.

It really is a great opportunity.
