Title: Visual Manager

Reports to: Regional Visual Manager / Store Manager

Objective: The Visual Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead a profitable and customer-centric environment through the successful development of a team. Responsible for managing all aspects of a single store including; hiring and developing visual talent, fostering the merchant process, developing and applying merchant skills and managing execution of display to create a compelling, well curated customer experience.

Expectations

Sales & Profitability

  • Meets or exceeds sales, payroll and shrink goals. Controls expenses to increase profitability
  • Partners with SM to assess the business using company reporting tools; plans and prioritizes strategies to impact results
  • Plans, facilitates, and leads the merchant process
  • Communicates priority product and allocation needs to District Leadership
  • People & Development

  • Recruits, hires, and retains top talent to build bench for the store and brand
  • Partners with the SM to create and maintain a succession strategy
  • Ensures New Hires receive a thorough and thoughtful onboarding
  • Ensures that development happens through all levels of the team
  • Takes responsibility for own development and professional growth; identifies and trains role replacement in preparation for career progression
  • Promotes an environment of self-awareness and self- development
  • Promotes an environment of collaboration and inspiration to leverage the skill set and expertise of others
  • Creates a culture of action and accountability
  • Develops assessment skills and encourages an entrepreneurial approach with display and merchandising
  • Plans and executes meetings and workshops that are collaborative, educational and motivational
  • Administers performance appraisals, sets goals and conducts consistent touch-bases with direct reports. Follows up to ensure that direct reports adhere to the same standard for their team (if applicable).
  • Ensures that coaching and counselling is consistent and timely
  • Aesthetic Understanding & Application

  • Has a strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of the brand and core customer
  • Serves as a visionary; oversees the execution of all presentation inclusive of merchandising, floor planning, display and outfitting
  • Guides product placement and outfitting that is reflective of trend, reinforces brand messaging, and inspires the customer
  • Partners with SM to establish systems that protect stock levels and uphold presentation standards
  • Sets an effective store structure & floor plan
  • Develops the store team to assess, apply inspiration and execute creatively
  • Facilitates the display process through idea generation and application of inspiration
  • Partners with the SM to ensure appropriate support and effective scheduling for visual priorities
  • Develops team to connect brand aesthetic with store Social Media platforms
  • Customer Connection

  • Cultivates an environment of creativity to engage the customer
  • Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and aesthetic
  • Understands store specific distinctions to guide and tailor the experience
  • Engages with local community via events and social media platforms

  • Provides global insight in relationship to merchandising, display and fixture needs to district leadership and home office

  • Attends prototypes, store openings, meetings and display workshops where applicable
  • Operating Procedures

  • Adheres to and holds team accountable to Typical Day/Week Guidelines
  • Trains and holds team accountable to The Standard
  • Maintains a visually compelling store that is neat, clean and organized
  • Adheres to and develops awareness around internal and external Loss Prevention procedures
  • Partners with the SM to complete Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Planning
  • Upholds all Company Policy and Procedures
  • Partners with the SM to manage physical integrity of store
  • A completed professional portfolio should be submitted if applicable.
