Sony UK Technology Centre
Role Overview:
As a Production Support Technician, you will be working in the Production Engineering Department and reporting directly to the Production Engineering Supervisor. This key role is to ensure efficient daily running of the Sony UK Technology Centre test and assembly operations. You will get the opportunity to become involved in creating and maintaining total productive maintenance procedures for test and assembly, as well as have input in implementing and controlling process changes. During peak times within the organisation, your skills may be required to join other departments to assist in the development of new test and assembly facilities. This role requires strong technical ability, knowledge of both test and product operation, and an understanding of the production workflow would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Confident fault finding and repairing on a range of production/process equipment
Carryout total productive maintenance procedures
Analysis and reporting of production data (breakdown and no fault found)
Analysis of test data
Control and implementation of key process changes (Production Change Notices, Engineering Change Notices, Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
Implementation of productive innovation ideas
Provide input during Design For Manufacture evaluations
Spare parts for your area
Ensuring a safe, clean working environment and carrying out work in a safe manner ensuring safety standards are met
Person Specification:
Essential criteria
HNC or above in an Engineering or Technical discipline (or time served apprentice with experience)
Able to communicate at all levels including external customers
Ability to make engineering and technical change decisions to improve quality, efficiency to the benefit of the business
A strong team player with a positive attitude towards achieving schedules
Self-motivated and strong sense of responsibility
Desirable criteria
Knowledge and understanding of computer programming languages; C, Python, Visual Basic, etc.
An understanding of assembly techniques and basic mechanical engineering
Good aptitude for complex and technical operations
