Are you looking to further your career in Devon? Do you have well established leadership skills and a passion for service development? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Senior Physiotherapist to come and join our ward-based intermediate care team.

Tiverton has excellent transport links and we are a short journey off the M5, giving quick access to Dartmoor, Exeter and Bristol. The Devon Link Road can transport you to the beautiful shorelines of the North Devon Coast, Exmoor and Blackdown Hills, Area of Natural Beauty. You can also access direct trains to London from Tiverton Parkway, taking less than 2 hours.

Tiverton and District Hospital are proud to have two Intermediate Care wards that support the rehab of our local community during their inpatient stay. We pride ourselves on optimising independence, supporting quality of life and working together as a team. The post-holder will work closely alongside our Onward Care clinicians to arrange discharge and on-going rehabilitation programmes with our Community Therapy colleagues.

We have a wide and varied caseload, working with patients with long term, neurological and orthopaedic conditions, as well as dementia, and advising on manual handling methods to support their rehabilitation needs and their transition home.

We encourage integrated working with our NHS colleagues in multidisciplinary teams and also our DCC partners in the Social Care sector and third sector to deliver a high-quality service in our locality.

The post holder will be responsible for the supervision and development of Band 5 rotational Physiotherapists and support staff. We are delighted to offer full time hours to the successful candidate. Whilst the majority of shifts will be 8.00 to 4.00, you will be placed on a rota for early shifts (7.30 to 15.30) and late shifts (12 to 8pm) as well as weekends.

We are committed to the continuing professional development of all our team members and offer a supportive environment with regular supervision and encourage on-going external learning as well as providing CPD groups, training and peer support. Support can be gained from our new Therapy lead for the ward as well as our Community Rehabilitation Team.

Excellent communication and IT skills are required to coordinate the smooth running of the service within our large integrated health and social care team, including the support of junior staff members.
