The roles

Reporting into our operations managers in Service and Rental Hire, our Bristol Workshop engineering teams are at the heart of our workshop operations, covering the preparation, testing and repair of diesel generator sets. Technical competence will be paramount with daily responsibilities to include PDI, service, maintenance and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment, and some yard work involved (fork lift truck offloading etc).

Successful applicants will have a strong mechanical and electrical background and will be comfortable working on a range of diesel engines and control panels.

Some flexibility will be needed, as the role entails providing call-out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota system (full training will be given).

Skills, experience & qualifications we are looking for

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering (motor vehicle engineering studies / motor vehicle systems / transport maintenance / mechanics)
  • Time served via a national Mechanical and or Electrical apprenticeship; Alternatively, a City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 qualification or similar in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Are you the ideal candidate?

    You may very well have an engineering background in HM Armed Forces, Marine or HGVs. You will be a natural problem solver with a pragmatic, methodical and practical approach, combined with accuracy and attention to detail. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong and lasting relationships with colleagues and clients. We need people who are happy to enhance team capability, share knowledge and help others.
