The German Section in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics at the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a full-time Teaching Associate in German Linguistics. The post has been set up to provide cover for an existing member of staff who will be undertaking a secondment from 1 September 2022 until 31 August 2025.

The Teaching Associate will be expected to contribute to the teaching and examining of German linguistics in undergraduate and Masters courses, to translation teaching from German into English and to the administration of the Section’s activities. We welcome applicants with research interests in the structures and usage of German, encompassing its historical, regional and social varieties.

Candidates will have relevant teaching experience, hold or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate active, collegial engagement in research, teaching and outreach in German Studies. A native or near-native command of both German and English is essential.

The closing date for applications is midnight (BST) on Monday 20 June 2022. It is expected that interviews will be conducted online on 7 July 2022, subject to change.
