Process / Supplier Quality Engineer – Yate, Bristol

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (with Process Quality background) to provide support for the Value Stream with regards to containment and management of supplier related issues in terms of PPM, non conformities, financial claims and PPAP.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Knowledge, application and management of PPAP is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and application of quality tools such as 8D, A3 Kano, MSA, Process Capability
  • Knowledge and application of key performance indicators
  • A continuous improvement and quality mindset
  • An eagerness to learn and develop
  • Experience in utilising information systems such as SAP
  • Role responsibilities:

  • Provide and ensure support for supplier issue escalation process
  • Ensure supplier claims data accuration
  • Manage PPAP activities and production trials.
  • Manage together with Value Stream, Engineering and Logistic, containment for supplier issues
  • Request, follow up and close 8D reports or supplier quality alerts
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of supplier PPM data highlighting improvement opportunities and criticalities.
  • Minimize impact of supplier returns on overall plant material stock
  • Audit in agreed time intervals inventory of supplier returns
  • While previous experience within manufacturing is desirable, this role would suit an individual who is trained or has an understanding of quality problem solving tools, and is looking for their first step into a career in manufacturing.
