A Senior Credit Controller is needed to join one of the worlds largest pharmaceuticals organisation based near Croydon as a part of a newly introduced team in the finance department!! This role will be critical for the entire finance function and will suit a candidate who is hard working, adaptable, and is looking to help support the Credit Manager, management of accounts and maintaining relationships with key clients, reporting on the performance of key accounts, liaising with the offshore finance team as well as a number of further credit control related tasks which have been detailed below.

The Role:

In this Senior Credit Controller role you will be responsible for:

    • Credit control for the 5 sub ledgers within the wholesale division (each sub ledger have their own unique characteristics and all require a sympathetic “light touch” approach as we are critical suppliers in a highly regulated business environment). Overall there are around 250 accounts with a total debtor balance averaging c.£35m. Balances range from £1m+ to below £10k. Transactions are high volume with thousands of invoices issued per month. Historically there are no significant overdue balances or concerns and we have developed good relationships with our customers which are generally well established and longstanding relationships.
      • Credit control activity for the wholesale ledgers.
      • Sending statements (SUN), copy invoices and providing spreadsheets for larger customers to reconcile and for contra arrangements (accounts being offset to AP).
      • Calculate direct debits for partner business accounts.
      • Set up new customer accounts and amend customer account data.
      • Support the sales team with AR related input.
      • Liaise with the offshore transactional Finance team on any cash posting and allocation issues.
      • Oversee issue of credit notes.
    • Reporting
      • Weekly excel report for management showing performance of key accounts.
      • Take part in the monthly debtor meeting with the wholesale management team to review debtor ledgers and identify and address any issues or concerns.
      • Follow up and clear any differences when customers have paid.
      • Providing various reports for EM Pharma (manufacturing arm).
    • Other tasks, for example
      • Releasing pick notes to the warehouse.
      • Monitoring and releasing accounts and orders which are on hold.
      • Produce invoices for additional revenue streams (rebates, conferences, totes, transport etc.) providing schedules backing up the figures.
      • Confirm balances due to/from customers based on agreed retro/rebates, equalisation payments, commissions, seepages etc.
    • To liaise within the wholesale and wider business regarding performance and updating the wider business on any relevant trends or concerns.
    • To assist and support the wholesale and Finance/AR teams from time to time on various ad-hoc requirements.

Your Profile:

Salary & Benefits:

This Senior Credit Controller role will be paying up to £35,000 per annum, as well as offer 25 days holiday, 4% pension, hybrid working, with further benefits to be confirmed.
