About the role

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work in Coleshill.

Role Purpose:

This Quantity Surveyor role will be working on our Pumping Stations works, providing necessary commercial support to the Commercial Manager and the Pumping Stations Project Manager.

Theyll be responsible for both pre and construction responsibilities, initially procuring, placing orders – eventually being responsible for delivery of the works, site wide.

Scope will also include involvement with other areas including precast concrete, reinforcement and project wide support.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carries out subcontract procurement in accordance with the procurement schedule timetable, in accordance with procurement process and policy.
  • Procure materials and off site services in an efficient manner with organisations in accordance with BBV procurement policy and procedures and ensure appropriate records are kept.
  • Prepares work package content sheets as part of the project team.
    Prepare subcontract invitations to tender and evaluate tender returns (time, cost, quality and SHE) and make recommendations to appoint.
  • Understand the importance of the supply chain to deliver continuous improvement in terms of time, cost, quality and learning of all parties
  • Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
  • Assist in the prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations.
  • Contribute to the production of accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts
  • Ensure that any Change is identified through participation in regular and detailed review of construction information, measured against the contract requirements
  • Who we’re looking for

  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB is desirable
  • Previous experience working in a civils/infrastructure or M&E project as a Quantity Surveyor
