Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, part time (16 hours per week) post based at Woodlands House, Astley Ansley Hospital.

The post holder will work within a broad strategic framework, monitoring, interpreting and providing robust analysis of referrals at a local clinician, practice and locality level in both primary and secondary care within Lothian in order to support the signposting and transfer of high quality referrals to the most appropriate location. 

To provide feedback to referrers on the volume and quality of referrals made, identifying any trends, and providing education and support where necessary. This will include participation in RefTalks webinars. 

Along with the Outpatient Redesign team, to support the development of RefHelp, the NHS Lothian referral guidelines and SCI Gateway, the national electronic e-referral mechanism

To develop new management and referral clinical pathways in conjunction with GPs, community and secondary care colleagues so that referrals received then generate the most appropriate triage response for patients.

With GP representatives, to develop alternatives to outpatient referral and advise on demand management.

Contribute to regular communication through newsletters and social media on updates to referral guidelines.
