Hales Group are working with a well-established client who help people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Our client is looking for an Assistant Manager to cover the East of England, therefore there will be the requirement to travel across the region. You will focus on providing operational and contract management to staff and projects across the region and work closely and collaboratively with the East of England Service Manager to develop and sustain quality and consistent services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong and effective leadership and management to the team, developing a positive team culture, driven by continuous high performance to ensure we deliver the best services for our clients
  • Contribute to the effective development, management and accountability of service budgets including ensuring resources are well managed and value for money is achieved in all areas of expenditure, whilst delivering services that meet our client’s needs
  • Be accountable and responsible for the achievement of contractual and organisational KPIs and be responsible for the timely accurate submission of data and reports, internally and externally
  • Manage operational and regulatory risks in relation to safeguarding, diversity & inclusion, data protection and health and safety, escalating as appropriate
  • Support with the implementation of safeguarding legislation and policies and supporting teams to manage risk
  • Effective line management of direct reports including carrying out regular supervisions and annual Performance Development Review’s in line with St Giles policy and frameworks
  • Create (with our Quality Team) a Quality Assurance process and embed this into day to day activities e.g. carry out the file audits, monitor data, review client feedback, drive safeguarding in the region etc

Experience and skills

  • Experience of managing a range of different projects and contracts which provide support to service users experiencing a range of adverse challenges such as homelessness, offending, debt, threat of violence and exploitation etc
  • Experience of managing and supervising teams of staff and volunteers based in multiple locations or outreach across a wide geographical area
  • The ability to lead a team to deliver successful outcomes whilst maintaining quality standards
  • Proven background of strong contract management
  • Experience of managing services supporting clients involved in the criminal justice system
  • Management or Advice and Guidance qualification
  • Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by clients involved in the criminal justice system, in particular the issues and approaches required to support women involved in the CJS
  • An understanding of how employing staff with lived experience can provide additional value and impact to services delivered to their peers
  • An understanding of trauma informed practice and how this can improve outcomes and service user experience
