About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and driven Theatre Team Lead to join a highly reputable private hospital based on the outskirts of Luton. The hospital is situated between Luton and St Albans and is within easy reach of public transport links. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Theatre Team Lead to join their friendly theatre team on a permanent basis. The team are passionate about person centred care and put their patients at the heart of everything they do and looking for a like-minded Theatre Team Lead to work closely with the Theatre Manager in running the theatre. The service boasts 5 state of the art Theatres, as well as modern surgical and day care wards. The hospital covers a range of services including major surgery, plastics and medical patients, orthopaedics, gynaecology and many more. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Theatre Practitioner / Nurse to step into a management role as a Theatre Team Lead.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be working as a Theatre Team Lead and will be responsible for:

  • Deputising for the Theatre Manager providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership throughout the department
  • Maximising theatre utilisation, consultant compliance and maintaining clinical standards
  • Act as point of contact for advice and expertise
  • Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care
  • Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others
  • Delegate appropriate activities to other staff and ensure objectives are met

Who we’re looking for

  • Be NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on practice
  • Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • At least 4 years experience in the UK in orthopaedic scrub
  • Experience within a similar senior role within a hospital/ theatre setting
  • SFA qualification would be advantageous
  • ILS trained- willing to complete ALS and EPALS within 6 months
