Role

We require a People & Development Adviser to deliver exceptional HR support to managers and employees across the business. The People & Development Adviser will provide generalist support to the People & Development Manager and own key aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will provide day to day HR support but will also get involved in strategic projects. You will also provide guidance and support to the People & Development Assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide operational HR support to the People & Development Manager by liaising with both managers and employees
  • Provide advice and guidance on employment law, policies, and procedures
  • Manage ER cases including performance, disciplinary and grievances
  • Provide support in annual HR processes including performance reviews, promotions, and salary reviews
  • Support managers with implementing training and development plans
  • Manage parental leave processes
  • Support managers with absence management, including sickness absence and phased returns
  • Support managers with end-to-end recruitment
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Provide HR reports
  • Support the payroll process through collating and submitting data to external payroll bureau
  • Manage Health and Safety compliance, providing day to day support to local Health & Safety representatives
  • Work alongside the People & Development Manager on regular project work

    This role will sit within the People & Development team reporting to the People & Development Manager. You will have relationships with managers and employees across the business. You will also develop relationships with external third-party suppliers

    Skills and Experience

  • CIPD qualified
  • Previous experience working as an HR Advisor or HR Officer
  • Exposure to employee relations including absence, disciplinary & grievance
  • Sound understanding and application of employment law
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience using an HR system
  • Experience managing end to end payroll process
